What We Do

What is Rehabilitation

The philosophy of rehabilitation is to restore and maintain the best possible level of functioning which will enable you to achieve your life goals

Our health professionals will work with you and your family and friends to achieve your goals throughout your rehabilitation stay.

Orthopaedic Rehabilitation

The orthopaedic/musculoskeletal program at WRH is a physical therapy program tailored for patients following both surgically and conservatively managed orthopaedic conditions.

This may include joint replacements, spinal surgery, fractures of the arm or leg or soft tissue injuries. The program is developed to help patients realise their full potential and regain their independence.

Physiotherapy – focuses on mobility whilst reducing pain, improving strength, range of motion, balance and coordination.
Occupational Therapy - addresses activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing and toileting, as well as domestic skills.  Home assessments can be completed with our orthopaedic patients if any potential safety or coping issues have been identified.
Hydrotherapy - reduces muscle and joint  soreness, aides strengthening  and range of motion and improves proprioceptive feedback.
NursingOur nursing staff work with you to put into practice the skills you have learnt in therapy with 24 hour care and supervision, medication management and wound management.
